This week is going to be a strange week.
For starters, I’m still in the thick of NaNoWriMo.
Get this. There are 17 days left in the month of November.
I have about 165,000 words already written for my story.
13 days left.
For purposes of NaNoWriMo, I am gunning for 200,000 words by month’s end.
But I don’t intend to stop writing at the end of November. This is a rough draft, in that I am getting everything out and down in some semblance of how I want it to read.
I plan on working on it until it’s done.
And I don’t care how long that takes.
So. “Cherchez La Femme” is a go, and no mistake.
And I’m so happy with it so far. I mean, it’s still got a long ways to go yet. But I am happy with what I’ve got so far. Several things have taken me by surprise. Without giving too much away, I can tell you a couple of the bigger surprises. One big surprise was the discussion about pizza, which actually turned out to be quite funny. And the other surprise was one of the characters came to a realization much sooner than I anticipated he/she would. So. Those two things have really taken me by surprise as the writing has gone on.
But the strangest thing about this week is going to be The Move.
Yes. This coming Saturday, Dad and I are leaving Idaho, in order to get me back to Iowa.
We leave Saturday. I’ll be back in Iowa by Monday.
I have basically just have packing to do, get things in order before the move.
That said, I am still job hunting for a position back in Iowa. I’ve applied and/or gotten a hold of several job openings and/or recruiters, but I haven’t really heard back from any of them yet.
Well. There’s still time. I’m thinking if not by mid-December then by the first of the year, I will have a job.
So. We’ll see.
Update on Johnny, seeing as how Johnny and I are still friends – he has extended his assignment out in San Francisco until January 8th. After that, he will spend some more time with his parents (the Chinese New Year is January 28th, so he’s going to spend it with his parents), and after that, he said he would either return to Henderson fully or else take on another assignment (he mentioned Los Angeles).
However. There has also been a development that I didn’t see coming. No, honestly, I did NOT see it coming. However, that is something that I am going to have to come to a decision about on my own. And I do not wish to discuss it on the blog at the present time.
Let’s just say, the future looks bright, no matter what I decide to do.
So. That’s about it.
Sorry this was so brief. I’ll try to do better next post.
