Friday Fun with Brent Spiner

Here’s the weekly shameless plug:

Become one of the chosen. Join the mercurial stranger, DJ Mozo, in The Seventh House tonight, 8 to 10:30 pm EST, on Tenacity Radio. Not mainstream. Not progressive. Just music, and good music at that. Great music. All brought to you by a DJ who is only visiting this planet…. This is radio, as it should be. If you choose to join in the chat, just look for me, Mouse.

Thank you. That’s all for now.

Now, on to the Funny.

Okay, here you go. The weirdest things get inside my head. Or go through my head.

Take today’s Funny, for instance. Which I was going to wait until the Tune for Tuesday to post, but this is just too Fun not to share as the Funny.

I don’t know why, but yesterday, I started thinking about this. For no good reason.

I was a little tyke when “Star Trek: The Next Generation” first premiered (which will age me, actually, quite a bit). We watched it initially for LeVar Burton, because of “Reading Rainbow,” and he was great as Geordi. But I quickly became enthralled by Data the android, played by Brent Spiner. So it’s totally a kidling crush thing.

(And remember, my idea of a crush isn’t the same as most people’s idea. Just sayin’.)

I watched “Geppetto” when it came on TV all those years ago, because of Mr. Spiner. And, quite frankly, and I mean no disrespect to anyone else involved, this musical number was the only reason to watch the darn movie. Wow. Just, wow. I wonder how much practice it took for him to get this just right. But, being a veteran actor, it probably wasn’t that hard for him.

This particular video, provided by a Youtube user named Drew Carey Acting Tips, is actually….the tone is not correct. It’s sped up a bit. Still, you’ll get the idea.

Here is Brent Spiner as Stromboli the puppeteer, singing “Bravo Stromboli” from “Geppetto.”

Enjoy! And Happy Friday!
