Wow….

….what a week.

How was your Christmas holiday?  Hopefully it was a good day.

Mine was.  At 8:30 on Christmas morning, there was a knock on the front door, and we all thought it was the UPS man with a last-minute Christmas delivery.

Even better.  It was my dad!  We were not expecting him at all, so it was a nice surprise.

Wow.

And then….oh, there’s just so much to say and talk about.  I don’t know where to start.

My cousin Gina is getting married next month, and Older Sister, Younger Brother, and I are all going to the wedding.  It’s down in Savannah, Georgia, which should be really nice next month in terms of weather.

Guitar lessons are going really well.  I can play so many songs now.  For last week’s lesson, I played a song by George Harrison, my second favorite Beatle, called “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”  That’s a good song.

The weather is finally getting colder.  I don’t mean to complain, but the weather was so mild all month and we didn’t have a white Christmas.  I’m sort of glad winter is making a comeback.  I miss a little snow.  (Notice I said ‘little,’ not ‘a lot.’)

Really missing Father Mike.  Understandable, given it’s the holidays.  I’m sure everyone at St. Mary’s is missing him.

I would like to tell you more about my friend Johnny, who has been one of the better things about this month.  But again, I don’t know where to start.  That would be a whole post in and of itself.  Still processing.  I’ll get back to you on it.

And, well, that’s it for now.  Just providing an update.

Oh, I know.  For the first time in my life, I’ve made a couple New Year’s resolutions.  Yeah, I know I don’t really believe in those, but these two resolutions need to happen, and it’s time for them to happen.

One is pretty typical – I resolve to lose weight.  I need to.  My current place of employment has fitness centers on site, and I have access to them, so I really need to take advantage of that.  Older Sister agreed to go with me, so.  That’s one.

The second is I resolve to read more.  All I got for Christmas were gift cards to book stores, which is fabulous considering all I wanted for Christmas were books.  (Though I neglected to mention specific titles, which is why I got gift cards.  Neat, huh?)

More later.  I’ll try to do better next post.
