Just got back from Illinois for the weekend. And what a weekend it was. It was entirely enjoyable, save for one event, but I won’t go into it right now. Suffice to say that, yes, we are the original wunderkin. But that’s all I’ll say about that. We all had a good time regardless.
John at writingthebody has nominated me for a team player award. Aww, thank you so much, John!
The rules are you have to nominate 14 other bloggers, and then answer the three questions John posed; I have posted them below in italics.
As I am not good about being able to whittle it down to just fourteen, and I’m really not, I will say that anyone and everyone could participate. Just answer the questions either in comments or on your own blog, and that will do the trick.
What music did you last play on your player?
~ Ha! I listened to my MP3 player on the trip back to Iowa from Illinois. I played a lot of ABBA, the entire album “Stand Still Look Pretty” by The Wreckers, and a bunch of other songs, among which I can’t even remember now; my short-term memory is really bad. I know there were a couple of Gin Blossoms songs in there….OOO, I know, “Allison Road” and “Until I Fall Away.” There was Beth Orton’s “Concrete Sky.” There was Rickie Lee Jones’ “Prelude to Gravity,” and George Winston’s version of “Charlie Brown and his All-Stars.” What else? I can’t remember!
What is the last movie you watched at the cinema?
~ “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” for the office’s annual afternoon movie getaway a couple weeks ago. It was not what I was expecting, but then again, I should have realized it was a Wes Anderson film and Wes Anderson’s films are always not what you are expecting. (I did figure it out about ten minutes in, though.) It was good, quirky, a fantasy as one of my coworkers put it. Everyone I went with enjoyed it. So, yes, I’d recommend it.
What is the best thing that happened to you this year?
~ Getting my full-time job at the current company. Yes, that was November of last year, but it’s still within a year.
