Poem offering #11 – “I wish I was the moon”

Back! But I had a good week. I’m just tired.

Got some writing done. Here’s the best offering:

******************************************************************************

I WISH I WAS THE MOON

I wish I was the moon
I’d come out every night
And find you and shine down on you
And make your darkness bright

I wish I was the moon
I’d caress you with my light
And warm your night and keep you safe
And make you feel all right

I wish I was the moon
For you my one true love
But you could never know
About my feelings from above

Alone I sail the night sky
While on earth you carry on
Until I have to hide away
With the approaching dawn

But even though I disappear
I wanted you to know
That even after you ascend
I’ll always love you so

I wish I was the moon
So I’d watch over you
I’d smile on you a gleaming beam
You’d know not why I do

But every now and then
I know you’ll think about me too

This idea just came to me at work one morning. So I wrote it down. Took me about two days to write the whole thing.

No real reason.

*shrug*

Hopefully it makes some sense.

Bye for now!
