The ‘Shine On’ Award

Dear John at writingthebody has nominated me!

I didn’t sit back and plan any answers to the questions. What you will read is what you get. Sort of honoring John’s request to ‘come out of’ the basement.

1. Rank these kinds of weather from best to worst: Sunny and hot, misty and cold, rain and cool, snow, ice, windy.
~ Rain and cool, snow, misty and cold, windy, ice, sunny and hot.

2. Do you like outdoor music festivals?
~ Yes, I do. To me, they’re just fun to go to, even in the summer heat, and especially at night going into dusk. Sadly, I don’t get to many, because usually no one else wants to go with me.

3. Do you like drinking water?
~ Yup. Never used to but since the start of the current job, I’ve been drinking it daily, and now I can’t go a day without it. I fill up my water bottle about four times a day.

4. Favourite alcoholic drink.
~ I have never had alcohol before. And I’m not saying that to sound saintlike. I’ve been tempted, especially by Kahlua mudslides and sangria, and vodka to a degree (thank you, Sylvia Plath), but I have never had alcohol before. Sorta can’t now, either, what with my meds.

5. Best drug experience.
~ I’m also not just saying this, but I’ve never taken recreational drugs before. Though an overdose is quite the experience, let me tell you, and not a ‘best’ one at that.

6. Most fun while not taking anything.
~ The most fun I’ve ever had was when I was in Europe on the band trip, because I was with the best friends a girl could have ever had. That was my freshman year of high school, before any of my diagnoses, so I wasn’t taking any meds then.

7. Greatest sorrow.
~ The death of Father Mike. I cried for three days straight when we got the news of his passing. And I still cry sometimes.

I’d like to nominate Caterina at kissmeunderthepinkblossomtree and Oggs at brilliantly befuddled for this award.

  1. Thank you for doing this…I am finding that if I ask myself the question first, the questions are better…..
