A story question, for you, my readers

I’m having a moment of doubt.

Tell me if this scenario is realistic:

Two little girls in a sandbox, both about three, four years old. One girl pours sand in the other girl’s hair, hoping for tears. In retaliation, the other girl pours sand in the one girl’s hair. This causes the one girl to burst into tears. Then the other girl feels bad about what she has done, and bursts into tears herself. After the incident, both girls become friends.

Is this realistic?

Please leave me a comment. Like I said, I’m having a moment of doubt.

    • When I presented the story in class one day, some of my classmates said it didn’t seem real enough of an event. One person said they seemed too young for that to happen. For whatever reason, doubt set in this evening about it. So that’s why I’m asking.

  1. Well, you did write “One girl pours sand in the other girl’s hair, hoping for tears.” Which means one girl did have the intention of bringing the other to tears.

Just saying what came to my mind when I read this.

But the entire scenario is realistic though. How many times we have really seen kids do this one the beach.

  2. It could happen. But the becoming friends right away, depends if the girl who puts sand offers the other one some peace offering. Children are resilient and this could be a good example.
