Fried egg brain…. (and a sound byte for Tuesday)

Yup. Exactly as the post is titled.

I think it’s the weather. Yesterday, the high temperature reached the mid-40’s; that was about noon-ish. Within four hours, the temperature plummeted to about 20 degrees, the rain showers changed over to snow, and the wind picked up by nightfall.

That meant my awning rattled. All. Night. Long.

So, I really don’t want to do anything right now, except crawl back into bed and stay there. But I have to work the rest of the week.

Well, actually, thank goodness for that. Work is a welcome distraction from thinking sometimes.

But I have some things I’d like to post about.

First of all, that ‘weird’ post I alluded to yesterday is probably not going to be for a little while yet. It was to have been me playing a certain song on my guitar….and attempting to sing it as well. Yes, via the wonderful internet, I found the guitar chords to a certain Neko Case song, and I taught myself how to play it!!!! And I wanted to record it and post it for you, as like a guitar progress report. I tried yesterday afternoon – about the only thing I did yesterday afternoon – but I got too nervous and royally messed it up, so I quit with it. So it’ll be a little while yet. But I’d really like to do it.

I will have a specific post for you by the end of the week. Been working on it for a while. My deadline for it is actually Friday, and there’s a reason for that. But it may be Saturday when I post it. Don’t know yet. We’ll see.

I’ve also been thinking about posting a certain short story. Since my current writing project was born from this short story, I thought maybe I should post the original short story and get opinions on it, see where anybody would like for it to go. So. That might be something to look forward to.

Just not now.

Like I said, the weather has really sapped any of my ambitions.

I don’t even have a song for you today, it being Tuesday.

But I do have a sound byte for you.

And, yes, this is one of those things where you’re supposed to do a double-take and go ‘Huh?’ because it’s absolutely not in context! Though it’s still funny, even out of context.

One of my most favorite cartoon shows ever is “Invader Zim.” It was created by Jhonen Vasquez, and aired on Nickelodeon years ago. The gist of the show was, Zim is an alien invader, and was (mistakenly) sent to Earth to prepare the planet for his race, the Irkens, to conquer it. At times, the show was quite dark….but that’s something I loved about it.

Anyway, this little sound byte features my favorite character, Gir. Suffice to say, I have a whole collection of all things Gir. I’ll show you later.

Now, Gir, self-destruct.

(Many thanks to Youtube user BitBott2000 for the video.)

Have a good Tuesday!
