Usually, the weekly shameless plug would be here. However, Mozo is experiencing technical difficulties, and so will not be live tonight; the show tonight will be a ‘rerun.’
Drat it. But he’ll be back next week, so no fear! And you can listen in, anyway – just go to Tenacity Radio, from 8 to 10:30 pm EST.
So, yeah, I guess that was sort of the weekly shameless plug.
Anyway. I owe everyone a Funny, for all the, um, sad and depressing stuff I put you through this week.
Today’s Funny….I can’t even start. It’s as funny now as it was the first dozen times we saw it.
If you’ve never seen “Animaniacs” before, oh, you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s now being shown on a TV channel known as The Hub.
“Animaniacs” came out a couple years after “Tiny Toon Adventures;” of course, from the same people who created “Tiny Toons” (namely Spielberg). And while “Tiny Toons” was a good show, “Animaniacs” was just that much better.
The Warners brothers – Yakko and Wakko – and their sister Dot are voiced by Rob Paulsen, Jess Harnell, and Tress MacNeille, respectively and brilliantly. Also featured in this particular cartoon is Mr. Director, voiced by Paul Rugg.
I really can’t say anything about this particular cartoon, because it’d spoil everything. This particular cartoon is essentially what “Animaniacs” is all about. Everything that made the show great is in here. You have to watch it!
One thing I can say is, there’s a moment in here that the Brothers and I have often and will often repeat with nary a moment’s notice. You’ll know it when you see it.
Oh, one more thing. The second time we ever saw this cartoon, it was Older Sister who suddenly shrieked out, “Oh my god, they’re playing it backwards!” We were rolling.
(Many thanks to Youtube user SymmyOM for the video.)
Enjoy! And Happy Friday!
