Poem offering #1 – “untitled #1”

So I lied. I hadn’t planned on posting any of my writing so soon, but I was going through past writings yesterday (as I had yesterday off), and this particular poem jumped out at me.

Like I’ve said, the energy to write is massive, but I won’t be posting any newer writings until I finish them. So, most of what I post would be old stuff.

But hopefully it’s good stuff.

I don’t remember when I wrote this particular poem. I don’t quite remember why, exactly, I wrote this particular poem. But whatever the reason I had for writing it, it still holds true. I’m sort of back in that moment, as it were. There is a particular person….

Anyway. Done talking. Here it is.

******************************************************************************

In a delirium
I forgot
Cold steel bars
Trapping my mind
It is biting and hard
Purple night
Your purple might
We sing your praises
There I was a girl
Who didn’t have a clue
How to make a moment her own
I could only stare at you
Develop a crush on
And a rage for you
And hope I made a difference
Perhaps in your dreams
You see me, though I doubt it
This is my moment now, my own
I will have it
Then give it back to you.

(C) by me, Mouse, date unknown
