Unlike the local radio stations that have been playing 24-7 Christmas music ever since the first day of November, the family waited until closer to December before setting up Christmas cheer. Mom and I are both off on Wednesday, and we’ll be putting up indoor decorations then. As temps were in the mid-50’s this weekend (in December, in Iowa), the outside lights went up.
We weren’t sure if we were going to like the mix of the blue-white and multicolored lights, but it turned out pretty nice.
Mom was so happy the snowmen on the ground could finally be up and lit!
This is just the start, mind. Younger Brother is on a holiday decorating kick. He ran an errand this afternoon and came back with a box bearing a 30-inch light-up wire-frame deer decoration. Yeah, his grand master plan to deck the halls doesn’t exactly have the electric bill in mind.
